| Event Summary | This course is intended for Year 6 teacherswho are new to ad ministering or coordinating end of Key Stage 2 assessments. Some more experienced teachers may also feel that it is important to update their knowledge and understanding. | ||||||
| Event description | The course provides opportunities to become familiar with the current statutory requirements in relation to end of Key Stage 2 assessments and to discuss related issues. In particular schools need to ensure they are aware of national criteria and standards when making level judgements in Writing. Therefore the course will also include opportunities to discuss and moderate nationally agreed samples of children's work. | Learning outcomes | How will the pupils benefit? Children's learning will be accurately assessed and used to inform: • effective planning of Y6 teaching• reliable assessment of pupils' work • appropriate preparation for KS2 tests which should ensure a smooth transition for all pupils to their next stage of learning.
