Event Summary This 3.5-hour interactive training session will provide strategies and top tips to help schools manage the media, social media and communication with other stakeholders after a serious incident.
Event description This online training course will be delivered by a crisis communications professional who has probably been involved planning the communications response to more school related serious incidents than anyone else.

This course will help you to answer the following questions with reference to real incidents and case studies faced by schools throughout:
  • How can I reduce the likelihood of media interest after a serious incident?
  • How should I prepare in advance to be ready to respond?
  • What are the common errors people make when responding to negative press interest?
  • How will I know what is being said on social media and how should I engage with this?
  • How should I structure my crisis communications plan?

Includes a realistic and interactive scenario exercise to reinforce learning.
Additional information No preparation is required although it is advised that delegates refresh themselves of their school crisis management and crisis communications plans in advance.

The session will be delivered remotely using Zoom. A link to the meeting will be sent out in advance.
