This course will ensure Y2 teachers are equipped with ideas and strategies for preparing their pupils to take the screening check this term and that they know how to administer the check correctly. Attendance is particularly recommended for teachers who are administering the check for the first time.
Event description
This course will equip participants to prepare for and administer the phonic screening check confidently and accurately, Delegates will be given guidance on preparing their pupils for the check including ensuring coverage of the likely content and ideas for providing frequent opportunities to blend for reading. We will work through the administration and marking of the check step by step ensuring that delegates are very clear about the support they can and can't give during the process and also of how individual items may be marked. Delegates will have the opportunity to raise questions or concerns about the process.

Learning outcomes
Pupils' will be well prepared for the test and able to demonstrate their current phonic knowledge clearly. Teachers will have the confidence to administer the check in line with administration guidance.
