Event description | Reading … feeds pupils' imagination and opens up a treasure-house of wonder and joy for curious young minds. National Curriculum Document Laying a good foundation for reading in Reception and KS1 is essential if pupils are going to become fluent and confident readers by the time they leave primary school. This course covers the two aspects of early reading identified in the National Curriculum word level (decoding ) and comprehension. We will explore what the new inspection framework says about both of these elements and consider how we can ensure that we build a firm foundation in reading or all our pupils. Course content includes:
