Event Summary | Are you ready for an Ofsted Inspection’s Deep Dive into reading provision in your school? If not, this course may be just what you need to help you to prepare. | ||||||
Event description | Under the new framework Ofsted inspectors will carry out a number of 'deep dives' one of which will be into the teaching of reading. Key aspects of this are the teaching of phonics, provision for the lowest 20% and ensuring pupils have a wide range of opportunities through which their reading skills can be developed. The aim of this session is to ensure delegates are very clear about the expectations in regard to reading and to provide an opportunity for them to reflect upon their own practice. During the session we will take a detailed look at what the inspection framework says about reading and what good practice looks like in each of these areas. We will review the outcomes of recent inspections to identify the issues raised and the positive achievements highlighted. Delegates will have the opportunity to network with each other in order to share concerns and good practice. |
