| Event Summary | Congratulations on becoming a school governor! Essential for all newly appointed governors in maintained schools, academies and free schools. |

| Event description | New governors are expected to attend Induction training as soon as possible after appointment since it covers the key information needed to be an effective governor. The informal and supportive environment will enable governors to gain confidence and knowledge of these three core functions: • ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction • holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils • overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent You have the choice of doing all three sessions in one day or three separate evening sessions at a variety of locations around the county. |
