Event description | The course will explore some of the common difficulties pupils experience when learning phonics including auditory discrimination, blending and grapheme/phoneme correspondences. The session will cover: • Identifying the problem - a range assessment tasks aimed at pinpointing a pupil's specific area of difficulty • Planning a programme of support• Ideas and activities to support teaching • Reviewing progress The course is suitable for teachers and teaching assistants working with pupils in KS1 and KS2 |

Additional information | Trainer Biography - Kathy Ewers, Education Adviser (Teaching & Learning) With a background in English subject leadership and special needs, Kathy specialises in phonics, spelling and reading offering a range of CPD courses in these areas along with bespoke support for schools. She is an accredited trainer for a number of interventions including FFT Wave 3 Literacy, Write Away Together,Talking Partners and Inference Training. Kathy is also an experienced moderator and a Basic Skills Quality Mark assessor. Displayed fees are subject to VAT |
