Event Summary | In this one hour session we will explore the importance of developing fluency at every stage of a reader’s learning journey. | ||||||
Event description | During this session we will look briefly at some of the research into reading fluency, the importance of which is highlighted in The Reading Framework (July 2021), and explore what is meant by 'fluent' reading - is it just reading quickly? We will examine the impact of fluency on reading comprehension skills and explore a range of practical ideas aimed at ensuring pupils across the key stages are given the support they need in order to be able to read confidently and fluently. | ||||||
