Event Summary | A recent blog by Gill Jones, Ofstedās Deputy Director, Schools and Education, highlighted the importance of supporting secondary pupils with reading difficulties in to order to get them back on track. In this course we will explore a range of strategies and activities for supporting struggling readers. | ||||||
Event description | During the session we will consider several aspects of reading including: • Assessment - identifying the specific difficulties • Accuracy - including phonics • Comprehension • Fluency • Vocabulary and language • Finding and using appropriate texts Delegates will be provided with a range of practical ideas and activities to use within reading lessons and during extra support sessions. |
