Event Summary | This suite of courses for Years 1 to 6 identifies the priorities for teaching mathematics in each year group. We will focus on the strategies that can be used to accelerate the progress of all children in response to the disruption to learning caused by the COVID- 19 pandemic. |
Event description | This session supports teachers in identifying the National Curriculum objectives that should be prioritised in Year 2. We will explore practical strategies for accelerating the progress of all children based on assessment for learning tasks. We will also consider how learning can be contextualised to engage pupils and reflect on how such tasks can be used for assessment and shaping future learning. We will think about how the breadth of curriculum subjects can be utilised for teaching some age-related expectations and how other informal times of the day can be utilised for a quick mathematics rehearsal. Relevant resources, models and images will be embedded throughout the session to support conceptual understanding. |
Additional information | The session will be delivered remotely using Microsoft Teams. A link to the meeting will be sent out in advance. Displayed fees are subject to VAT |
