Event description | This course looks at the issues involved in developing and maintaining a primary school library or book collection. A well-managed primary school library, giving children access to a broad collection of high-quality appropriate reading materials, can play an essential role in engaging them with reading both for pleasure and for purpose. Learn best practice for library routines and management including establishing a policy and procedures, budgeting and stock management, selecting, editing and organising your stock, using library management systems and making best use of library monitors and/or volunteers. Using your library as a focus for reading activities is covered in our 'Book Alchemy' course. |

Sally is a chartered librarian, a member of the Association of Senior Children's and Education Librarians and has been a board member of the School Library Association.
